Job summary

Greene King Community Pubs are seeking an Apprentice Kitchen Team Leader to motivate and guide our front-of-house teams, ensuring every team member knows their stuff and aims to wow customers with service excellence.

You’ll learn through a work-based apprenticeship, develop leadership and organisational skills, and help create community-focused experiences—from quizzes to music evenings—while upholding food hygiene and brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present food to brand standards.

• Prepare, cook, and present food to brand standards, ensuring every dish is served with pride.
• Support and guide the kitchen team, helping to organise service and maintain high performance during busy shifts.
• Deputise for the Kitchen Manager or senior chefs when required, helping to resolve issues and keep service running smoothly.
• Ensure all food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
• Monitor stock levels, food preparation, and kitchen organisation to ensure efficient service.

What your apprenticeship includes:

• You won't need to attend college, our apprenticeships are delivered through work-based training which includes a mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote Team calls with your Lifetime Learner Coach every 6 weeks. You will also have a mentor within the workplace to support you.
• Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths, with support tailored to your needs (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents)
• Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions.
