Chesterfield Special Cylinders Limited are looking for an Apprentice Inspector to complete a Level 3 Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician apprenticeship and join their team.
Role & responsibilities:
As an apprentice Inspector, the candidate will be learning to inspect seamless steel cylinders and cylinder components in accordance with Specifications and engineering drawings, This will be aided by use of various inspection equipment such as micrometres, Verniers and gauges etc. whilst undergoing your training which is a mixture of full-time at the AMRC training centre followed by day release and on the job training.
Once qualified the candidate will be performing in-process inspection checks on products in a safe and controlled manner, meeting all quality specifications whilst satisfying productivity requirements and in compliance with engineering drawings and associated specifications. Ensure that equipment is maintained, relevant records are up to date and that all processes work effectively to ensure that the business can fulfil its aims.

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.
