Job summary

Tom Boswell Tree Services Ltd in London seeks an Apprentice Groundsman to learn practical skills, assist climbers, and contribute to safe, high-quality tree surgery operations. You will spend time on workshops, observe health and safety codes, and complete tests and assignments as part of your training program.

Successful apprentices are well-organised, flexible, and able to fit into the existing staff structure while developing professional arboriculture knowledge and on-the-job capabilities.

Qualifications

• Entry requirements GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering high quality and safe tree surgery service, stump grinding and other related tasks.
• Be part of a team of tree surgeons and ground staff to complete tree surgery operations safely and to high standard every time.
• Complete maintenance checks on works vehicles.
• Undertake health and safety work programmes, as agreed with the Operations manager / Company Director and in line with industry best practice.
• Manage company resources effectively, contributing to financial efficiencies.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and keep up to date with best practice in Arboriculture.
• Maintain personal and occupational development with industry relevant qualifications as required by job.
• Ensure information relating to the Company and its clients is managed confidentially and in line with governance requirements.

As our Apprentice your responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in workshops on and offsite, observing all health and safety codes, completing tests and assignments. The role of Apprentice Groundsman means you will be expected to help deliver great customer care and apply yourself diligently to your academic obligations.
