Job summary

KEITS Training Services Ltd invites applicants for an apprenticeship in Horticulture and Landscape Operative. The role offers full training at the workplace and KEITS, with progression to EPA and Level 2 qualifications.

The apprentice will perform lawn care, hedge work, planting and soft landscaping duties on varied commercial sites, under supervision, while gaining hands-on experience and industry recognition.

Qualifications

• Good time keeping and punctuality are required.
• Able to take initiative and be proactive on site.
• Willing to use ladders safely for garden tasks.
• Some gardening experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Applicants should not hold a Level 2+ in Horticulture and Landscape already.

Responsibilities

• Lawn cutting and treatments.
• Hedge cutting and edge trimming.
• Weeding and planting tasks.
• Laying bark and soft landscaping.
• Pruning, shaping and plant maintenance.
• Gutter clearing and general site tidy at day end.

Job description

40 hours – if we finish early, you get to go early! Not a 9-5 job.

M. E. Fox offers gardening and site maintenance for large commercial new build sites, smaller commercial jobs and private work. Elliot has trained many people in the past and is now seeking an apprentice!

We are looking for a new apprentice to join our team for this varied and exciting role.

Duties will include but not limited to;

• Lawn cutting and treatments
• hedge cutting
• edge trimming
• weeding
• planting
• laying bark
• sweeping
• sites are always left clean and tidy at the end of each day
• Pruning and shaping, plant maintenance
• Soft Landscaping
• Pruning and gutter clearing

As the apprentice continues to develop, more higher tier tasks can be completed/trained.

Future Progression

• On completion of the apprenticeship, there may be a chance for a full time role for the right candidate if a position arises.

Training

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
• You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.
