Job summary

Crown Lift Trucks UK is offering an apprenticeship for a workshop engineer who will diagnose and repair forklifts, and receive hands-on training in hydraulics, LPG and electric systems.

You will learn to install, repair and perform planned maintenance on customer forklift trucks, with on-the-job training, shadowing a colleague and attending manufacturer courses. A strong interest in engineering and good Maths/English are expected.

Qualifications

Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Genuine interest in engineering.
Friendly, able to build relationships with colleagues and customers.
GCSEs in Maths and English (9-4) at minimum.
IT literate with Word/Excel or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Learn to install, repair and carry out planned maintenance of customer forklift trucks to Crown specifications.
Shadow a colleague and learn workshop procedures through on‑the‑job training.
Attend manufacturers training and other courses as appropriate.
Learn Crown administrative procedures; complete worksheets and timesheets.
Assist in keeping customer trucks secure and clean in the workshop.
Understand and adhere to Crown health and safety procedures.
