Job summary

Active Flooring Solutions Limited is seeking an Apprentice Floorlayer to join our team on commercial construction sites across the North East. No prior experience is required; you’ll receive comprehensive training to learn installing carpets, vinyl and hardwood with a focus on quality workmanship.

You’ll work under experienced installers, develop practical skills on live projects, and gain a long-term career in a growing flooring trade within a supportive apprenticeship program.

Active Flooring Solutions is a well-established commercial flooring contractor delivering projects on construction sites across the UK.

We’re looking for a motivated Apprentice Floorlayer to join our skilled team.

No previous experience is required. We’ll provide comprehensive training and support to help you develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in the flooring trade.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn how to install a wide range of flooring, including carpets, vinyl and hardwood.

With demand for skilled tradespeople continuing to grow, this apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to develop a valuable trade and build a rewarding, long-term career.

About the Role

This is a physically active position that involves lifting, carrying and working on your feet for extended periods, so a good level of physical fitness and stamina is essential.

You’ll work across a variety of commercial construction sites across the North East and will need to hold a valid UK driving licence and be confident driving company vans.

Working alongside experienced flooring professionals, you’ll learn to:

• Install a variety of flooring materials to a high standard.
• Use the tools, equipment and techniques required for professional floor laying.
• Prepare, measure and fit flooring accurately and efficiently.
• Work safely and maintain a clean and organised working environment.
• Develop your practical skills through hands-on experience on live projects.
• Take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

What We Offer

• £20,995 per annum
• 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
• 21 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
