Job description

Established in 1886, Jenks & Cattell Engineering have the prestige and expertise as one of the most established metalwork engineering companies in the UK. From manufacturing garden tools nearly 150 years ago, to manufacturing headlamp rims for the original 1959 Mini we have built a heritage to be proud of.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be an opportunity to become an Assistant in our Finance Team.

We have a team of highly talented mentors throughout the business that are passionate about sharing their invaluable knowledge and experience with apprentices, so this is your chance to make a lasting impact and to be a part of the continued growth and success of a business with a wealth of expertise in a multi disciplined engineering environment that has been in the Wolverhampton area for 139 years.

  • Assist with processing of financial tasks, including invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Compile general operations documents
  • Perform data entry and assist with bank reconciliations
  • Respond to queries from internal teams and external
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting
  • Assist with VAT returns
  • Understand principles of payroll
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including managing spreadsheets and updating financial databases

Training will take place with City of Wolverhampton College.

7.30am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 12 midday on Friday.
