Staffordshire County Council is offering an exciting two-year fixed term apprenticeship as an Apprentice Finance & Compliance Assistant within the Skills & Employability Team at Staffordshire Place. You’ll learn financial administration, record keeping, and contract monitoring while supporting the Finance and Compliance Manager.

The role requires Maths and English GCSE at grade 4 or above, good communication skills, and a commitment to customer service.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and conscientious person to work as an Apprentice Finance & Compliance Assistant within the Skills & Employability Team.

As part of this role, you will complete the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship with Newcastle & Stafford College Group.

This role is fixed term for two years.

Main Responsibilities

  • Processing of financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate learner records across various ICT systems
  • Support the Finance and Compliance Manager with contract administration and monitoring
  • Maintain and monitor paper and electronic records
  • Provide staff and external training providers with support, advice, guidance and training as and when required
The Ideal Candidate

The minimum criteria that will be used to shortlist for this role will be:

  • GCSE or equivalent (Level 2) in in Maths and English at Grade 4+ (if not the successful candidate will be expected to complete this alongside their apprenticeship).
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work towards the completion of the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
  • Commitment to excellent customer service

Interview Dates:Tuesday 13thOctober and Wednesday 14thOctober 2026

Please note: if youhave completed this qualification (Business Administration L3) already, youwill not be eligible to apply for this role due to the Apprenticeship fundingrules. If you are part‑way through the course, you may be able to transfer ontothe apprenticeship, this is not guaranteed and will need to be confirmed withthe training provider before offers can be made.
