Job description

Apprentice Engineering Technician

Apprenticeship Pay:

  • Age 16-18 - £7.55 per hour
  • Age 19 or over in first year - £7.55 per hour
  • Aged 18-20 and have completed first year - £10.00 per hour
  • Aged 21 or over and have completed first year - £12.21 per hour
The Role

Working across both the Higher and Further Education Engineering departments to support the effective delivery of the engineering curriculum. You will be expected to provide day-to-day coordination of workshop and assessment areas, working with staff to ensure effective support for both staff and students. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining equipment within the engineering department and coordinating resource usage to deliver the curriculum efficiently.

What we are looking for

You should hold a Level 2 qualification in English and maths, and have experience operating relevant equipment, instructing, and developing practical delivery in an engineering context. You should also possess strong IT skills, including a good understanding of simulation software or using computer software to control physical equipment. As part of this role, you will be expected to study towards a Level 3 qualification and complete it successfully within 48 months.
