Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Hebburn is seeking an Apprentice in Electrical Engineering (Level 4) to join their team. This role offers hands-on experience in designing and testing electrical systems while completing a Level 4 qualification. Successful candidates will have at least 5 GCSEs and show enthusiasm for learning and teamwork. Effective problem-solving and communication skills are essential. Your role will include:

As an apprentice in our EA business unit based in the North East of England at Hebburn, you’ll gain hands‑on experience working on real projects that shape the future of energy and automation. You will :

  • Assist in designing, building, and testing electrical and automation systems.
  • Learn to use industry‑leading tools and technologies for power distribution and smart grid solutions.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to solve complex challenges.
  • Develop skills in electrical engineering, automation, and digitalisation.
  • Complete a Level 4 Electrical Engineering qualification attending college 1 day a week and undertake your End Point Assessment in your final year.
What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, if you’re curious, motivated, and ready to learn, we want to hear from you.

  • Achieved at least 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including Maths and English Language.
  • Achieved or are on track to achieve 3 A‑levels, BTEC, or equivalent level 3 qualification at grade B or above. At least one of your subjects must be Mathematics, Physics or Engineering.
  • Interested in electrical engineering and keen to learn by doing.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work well with others and communicate clearly.
  • Organised and able to manage your time effectively.
  • Curious and willing to ask questions and share ideas.
