Job summary

Busy Bees Thurstaston is offering an Early Years Apprenticeship designed to develop practical childcare skills within a supportive environment.

You will work under experienced mentors, gaining hands-on experience and completing a structured qualification while contributing to daily learning activities. The role emphasizes safeguarding, development, and strong team collaboration for long-term childcare careers.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about childcare and motivated to start a career in Early Years.
• To meet funding eligibility, you must have been a resident in the UK for at least the 3 consecutive years.
• Be able to provide evidence of Maths and English achievements (GCSE Maths and English grade 3/D or above or Level 2 Functional Skills).
• A Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Help plan and deliver exciting, age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework.
• Support the team to provide high-quality childcare and positive learning experiences for all children.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensure children’s individual needs are understood and met.
• Contribute to the safeguarding of all children.
• Show enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to your own development.
• Provide your line Manager with regular information about the activities and progress within the room.

About Our Nursery

Busy Bees Thurstaston is an Ofsted-rated "Good" nursery with a capacity of 86 children, providing a warm and welcoming environment designed to help children thrive. This purpose-built nursery features multiple rooms for toddlers and preschoolers, offering bright and airy spaces for play and learning. In addition to ample indoor space and resources, the nursery boasts a fantastic outdoor area, as well as its own off-site Forest School, offering children invaluable outdoor learning experiences. Located in the heart of the village on Thurstaston Road, the nursery is a 10-minute walk from Thurstaston Common and a 5-minute walk from Dawpool C of E Aided Primary School.
