Job summary

The University of Birmingham’s Birmingham Day Nurseries, Campus Services, invites applications for a Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship. You will learn to provide high quality childcare, support learning and development, and work within EYFS guidelines at Selly Oak Campus.

You will be employed full-time for 18 months with salary starting at £20,782, rising to £25,977 after 12 months, with eligible benefits and staff development opportunities within a leading global university setting.

Qualifications

• GCSE English Language and Maths (or equivalent Level 2).
• Preferred Early Years qualification Level 2.
• Some caring experience in a professional setting.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, keen learner with a can‑do attitude.
• Willingness to learn about legislation, health and safety, and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care for children through social, emotional, educational and practical interaction.
• Follow nursery policies, safeguarding procedures and EYFS requirements.
• Ensure children are safe, happy and well looked after at all times.
• Support the key worker system to address individual needs of children and families.
• Plan and supervise activities and maintain a clean, safe learning environment.
