Job summary

Network Plus is seeking an Apprentice Design Technician to support our design team in the utilities sector. You will learn AutoCAD, GNSS surveying, and how to produce as-laid drawings while visiting sites alongside experienced colleagues.

No prior design, AutoCAD or water industry experience is required. A full driving licence and access to your own car are essential due to regular site travel, with structured apprenticeship learning and guidance.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and develop skills in design, surveying and utilities industry.
• Basic IT skills and ability to follow client asset standards and drawings specifications.

Responsibilities

• Attend site visits and surveys to gather information for detailed designs and as-laid drawings.
• Learn to produce as-laid drawings using AutoCAD following client asset standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to obtain information and meet deadlines.
• Support client walk-off meetings and attend with colleagues.
• Assist the design team with preparing technical drawings and plans.
• Learn to create private land notice plans per client processes.
• Provide regular updates to the Design/Commercial Manager.
• Assist with record keeping and document management during apprenticeship.
