Job summary

Network Plus is offering an Apprentice Design Technician role based in Worsley, supporting a design team in water utilities projects. You will learn AutoCAD drawing, site surveying and client standards through a structured apprenticeship, with travel to sites and training provided.

The role requires a full driving licence and access to your own car for regular site visits; no prior design experience is necessary, and the emphasis is on learning and development within the utilities sector.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence and access to own car are essential.
• Interest in design, engineering or utilities industry.
• Willingness to learn and curiosity about design processes.
• Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Attend site visits and surveys to gather information for detailed designs.
• Learn to produce as-laid drawings using AutoCAD and client standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to complete drawings within timescales.
• Assist in organizing client walk-off meetings and participate with colleagues.
• Support the design team with preparing technical drawings and plans.
• Create private land notice plans per client processes and specs.
• Provide updates to Design/Commercial Manager on progress.
• Assist with administrative tasks and document management.
• Complete apprenticeship learning and assessments.
