Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting for an Apprentice Dental Nurse. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) supports Beeston, Chapel Allerton, Bradford and Hull, across the Leeds Dental Institute in rotas. You must be 16+ with four GCSEs (C or above) including English; Maths essential and Science desirable.

On completion you gain a Level 3 Dental Nursing qualification. The apprenticeship lasts 18 months, starting February 2027, with a focus on hands-on care, team work, and study

  • On successful completion of worked based practical assessments and coursework you will receive a Level 3 qualification in Dental Nursing.

Out Full Time Apprenticeship in Dental Nursing is an 18 months apprenticeship. We are recruiting for apprentices to start in February 2027.

What you will bring to the role

The jobholder will be undertaking a training programme within the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust (LTHT). The training will be delivered through formal education delivered by the School of Dental Care Professionals situated within Leeds Dental Institute, and clinical placements. They will be involved in providing direct and indirect care for patients in support of and supervised by a registered dental professional.

It is expected that the apprentice will commit to self-directed study and successfully complete the training programme within the contract period.

The jobholder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care.

The jobholder will work under supervision within a clinical area undertaking routine clinical duties in the Leeds Dental Institute and Outreach departments, caring for patients whilst undergoing the training programme.
