Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Leeds is seeking an Apprentice Dental Nurse to join the Leeds Dental Institute on a full-time basis. The role includes an 18-month training programme with a salary of £25,272 per year and a rota across Beeston, Chapel Allerton, Bradford and Hull.

Successful applicants will work as part of the Dental Team, assisting Dentists in patient care and undertaking timetabled study sessions to gain a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Minimum of 4 GCSEs (grade C and above) with English Language; Maths essential.
• Science subject desirable.

We are recruiting for motivated, caring and compassionate individuals for the role of Apprentice Dental Nurse.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have a minimum of 4 GSCE's (grade C and above) with English Language, Maths being essential and a Science subject as a desirable.

On successful completion of worked based practical assessments and coursework, you will receive a Level 3 qualification in Dental Nursing. Successful applicants will work as a team member within the Dental Team. They will assist Dentists in the management and treatment of patients in the Dental Surgery in their allocated department giving direct hands on care to patients, and will attend timetabled study sessions.

Out Full Time Apprenticeship in Dental Nursing is an 18 months apprenticeship. We are recruiting for apprentices to start in February 2027.

What You Will Bring To The Role

The jobholder will be undertaking a training programme within the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust (LTHT). The training will be delivered through formal education delivered by the School of Dental Care Professionals situated within Leeds Dental Institute, and clinical placements. They will be involved in providing direct and indirect care for patients in support of and supervised by a registered dental professional.

It is expected that the apprentice will commit to self-directed study and successfully complete the training programme within the contract period.

The jobholder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care.

The jobholder will work under supervision within a clinical area undertaking routine clinical duties in the Leeds Dental Institute and Outreach departments, caring for patients whilst undergoing the training programme.
