Job summary

Bri-Mac Engineering Ltd invites applications for an Apprentice Machinist. You will learn to manufacture bearing housings and other precision components using CNC milling and turning, while working with experienced engineers to read drawings, measure parts and perform quality inspections.

The role offers hands-on experience across engineering activities, with focus on safe working practices, team collaboration and ongoing development within a professional manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Essential - GCSE English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Desirable - STEM subjects related to engineering.
  • Interest in engineering and willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in manufacturing precision components using CNC milling and turning.
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation.
  • Develop skills in machine setup, tooling selection and machining principles.
  • Carry out dimensional inspections using measuring equipment.
  • Support quality assurance to meet standards.
  • Follow health, safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of a manufacturing team and participate in training activities.
