We have an exciting opportunity to recruit three Level 6 Apprentice Clinical Engineering Technologists to work within our Clinical Engineering team. The successful candidates will follow a 3-year programme of academic and on-the-job training, leading to a career as a Clinical Engineering Technologist.
Clinical Engineering is a vital support service within our hospitals, providing equipment management for diagnostic and treatment devices. Our dedicated team of around 37 staff members operates across various workshops within the Trust.
On completing the programme, apprentices will earn a Level 6 Healthcare Science Practitioner apprenticeship qualification. The programme combines on-the-job training with protected study time, including day release and online learning, culminating in a degree apprenticeship at the University of the West of England in Bristol.
We seek three apprentices who are detail-oriented, inquisitive, quick learners, and capable of balancing their training commitments.
During training, apprentices will develop expertise through theoretical university studies, technical training, and practical experience. They will learn to perform maintenance, testing, calibration, and repairs on medical devices, ensuring safety and operational efficiency with minimal downtime.
As they progress, apprentices will gain competence in increasingly complex tasks, building their knowledge of service operations.
