Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Apprentice Cardiac Physiologist (fixed term 3 years) in the Cardiac Investigations Unit. The role offers a structured Healthcare Science degree pathway with on‑site training and occasional travel to Sheffield for part of the programme.

You will undertake non‑invasive cardiac investigations, evolve under supervision to autonomous practice, and join a team delivering high‑quality cardiac care at Blackpool Victoria

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths and English are required.
• 120 UCAS tariff points at A2 or equivalent; results accepted pending.
• Degree (BSc Hons) in Biology or related science preferred; Level 3 qualification acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Work under close supervision to gain experience to become autonomous.
• Develop non-invasive cardiac investigation skills with training provided.
• Learn interventional cardiology techniques and pacemaker follow-up as part of the programme.
• Complete level 6 Healthcare Science apprenticeship requirements.
• Attend/relocate to Sheffield as part of the apprenticeship when required.
