Job summary

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon seeks a qualified Cardiac Physiologist on a temporary contract to support investigations across the hospital and at West Swindon, with staff rotation.

You will independently perform and report a range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, including ultrasound and rhythm management device testing, and train junior staff while contributing to SOP development and service improvements.

Qualifications

• BSc Honours in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent.
• Current ongoing professional development and up-to-date clinical practice.
• Current post-graduate qualification: BSE accreditation and/or Cardiac Rhythm Management.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of information and/or educational resources for all levels of medical and nursing staff, aiming to improve understanding of investigations and therapy.
• Participate in audit by implementing, monitoring and collating research and/or audit data as required by an agreed audit framework.
• Clinical supervision and training where appropriate; act as a work-based assessor for a specific area of cardiac physiology.
• Work in close partnership with the Cardiac Physiology Service Managers, other cardiac physiologists, and lead clinicians.
