Job summary

Cranswick Country Foods in Preston invites applications for a Trainee Butcher. You will start a comprehensive training programme to become skilled in the art of butchery, working Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm with overtime to complete production.

This permanent, full-time role offers a structured path, weekly pay and a supportive team environment as you gain hands-on experience on the cutting line. Ideal candidates have basic knife skills, a willingness to learn, good punctuality and the physical fitness

Qualifications

• Basic knife skills required.
• Experience in butchery/food production/chef is preferred.
• Willingness to learn new skills and techniques in butchery.
• Punctuality and timekeeping are essential.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive cuts.
• Commitment to hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial training and learn knife handling.
• Cut and portion meat to specification on the cutting line.
• Operate saws on the Cutting Line as required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the butchery hall.
