Job summary

Bullen Group Ltd in Norwich area seeks a proactive Apprentice Building Control Surveyor to support the Directors across property development and land holdings. This role is varied and hands-on, designed to develop practical surveying skills through a four-year apprenticeship.

You will assist with costings, gather quotes, manage small on-site projects and help build baseline information on undeveloped land, reporting progress to the Directors throughout the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English at grade C/4 or above.
  • GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or above.
  • Minimum 96 UCAS points from any subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist to cost refurbishment/development opportunities to judge viability.
  • Organise quotes for repairs and maintenance for property assets.
  • Oversee small on-site projects (landscaping, signage, building works).
  • Assist end of lease dilapidation works with surveyors.
  • Help establish baseline information for undeveloped land.
  • Assist in pricing up infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain project trackers and report progress to Directors.

Job description

Introduction

We are seeking a highly adaptable and proactive individual to work directly with the Directors of Bullen Group Ltd, operating across property development, commercial and residential asset management and strategic land holdings. This role is varied and hands-on, requiring someone who is willing to turn their hand to a wide range of tasks.

What You'll Do
  • Assisting to cost various refurbishment/development opportunities to help the team judge the viability of a project
  • Organise quotes for repairs and maintenance relating to a range of property assets
  • Oversee small on-site projects (e.g., landscaping, signage, building works)
  • Assist in managing end of lease dilapidation works on commercial properties, alongside our external building surveyors
  • Help establish ‘baseline’ information for undeveloped land in company ownership. This could include assisting to commission ground investigation reports, surveys etc.
  • Assist the team to assess new property or land opportunities.
  • Assisting in pricing up infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain project trackers for ongoing developments and report progress to Directors.
