Job summary

Little Ladybirds Childminding in Sefton is seeking a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprentice to support a caring, Ofsted-registered setting for Birth to 8 years. You will help deliver a stimulating environment and assist with daily tasks to maintain a warm, safe atmosphere.

You will gain hands-on training, undergo a Full Enhanced DBS check, and work towards the Level 2 apprenticeship while contributing to high-quality care in a small team.

Qualifications

  • Willing to undertaking Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship.
  • Some EYFS knowledge is an advantage.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Calm, caring and nurturing attitude toward children and families.
  • Diligence and willingness to learn on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Be flexible within the setting's working practices and help with domestic tasks such as snack prep and cleaning.
  • Work alongside the childminder to fulfil the setting's philosophy.
  • Ensure the setting meets Ofsted and ESF standards with a minimum good rating.
  • Uphold a high standard of care within the setting.
  • Monitor safeguarding issues and report to the childminder promptly.

Job description

Little Ladybirds Childminding is owned by a fully Ofsted registered childminder providing the highest quality of care to children. The setting is a purpose built Log Cabin that is warm and inviting, suitable for all ages from Birth to 8 years. As a level 2 Early Years Apprentice you will support the team to ensure that a caring and stimulating environment is provided for children that takes into account individual developmental needs and enables children to reach their full potential. You will be expected to -

  • To be flexible within working practices of the setting. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack, meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
  • Work alongside the childminder to ensure that the philosophy behind the setting is fulfilled.
  • To ensure that the setting conforms to and exceeds the requirements of Ofsted and consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum good standard.
  • To uphold and ensure a high standard of care within the setting.
  • To monitor any safeguarding issues following setting and local authority procedures.
  • To give daily feedback to the childminder about the setting including any complaints received or any situation that may be detrimental to the company.
Working Week

Monday to Friday 35 hours per week

Full Enhanced DBS Required

Some EYFS knowledge an advantage Some experience is great but not necessarily needed. Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required
