Building on our continued success, we’re excited to be recruiting an Applications Software Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading technology and play a key part in delivering outstanding products to customers worldwide.

Role Purpose & Responsibilities:

As an Applications Software Engineer, you’ll be a valued member of our collaborative and agile development team, designing, building, testing and maintaining high-quality applications that support the evolving needs of our business and customers.

Working across the full lifecycle, you’ll help turn complex requirements into practical outcomes, contributing from design and development through to testing, deployment and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in delivering robust and reliable solutions, and is keen to learn new technologies. You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of your work, building effective relationships across teams, and contributing ideas that enhance both our products and ways of working.

This role can be either fully office-based or hybrid, with the whole team working from the office two days a week, typically Tuesday and Thursday.

Skills and Experience:

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Experience designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software applications within a commercial environment
  • A good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and experience working within Agile development frameworks
  • Experience developing and consuming ASP.NET Core Web APIs and designing scalable software solutions
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity, improve code quality and support software delivery
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate user, customer and business requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Experience using Git for source control, including familiarity with branching strategies such as GitFlow
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, including source control, work item management and CI/CD processes
  • The ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines, and contribute positively to technical discussions and code reviews
  • A proactive approach to learning, continuous improvement and exploring new technologies
The following may also be advantageous:
  • Experience working with virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V
  • Experience working within both Windows and Linux environments
  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Fundamentals
  • 27 days’ annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays), increasing with length of service, with the option to buy or sell additional leave
  • A non-contractual, discretionary profit share bonus scheme
  • Bupa Private Healthcare to support your health and wellbeing
  • Life Assurance at three times your salary, providing peace of mind for you and your loved ones
  • Cycle2Work scheme to promote a healthier lifestyle and greener commute
  • Electric Vehicle Scheme to provide a cost-effective way to make greener travel choices
  • Technology discount scheme, offering savings on a range of everyday tech

Access to some benefits is subject to successful completion of probation

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be able to demonstrate ongoing eligibility for at least 3 years from the proposed start date. Given the project-based nature of the role and the steep learning curve involved, this timeframe supports successful development in the position.
