Job summary

Solutions Engineering Recruitment in the Midlands is seeking an Applications Engineer to support CNC machine tools across the UK and Ireland. You will work with a wide range of customers, provide CNC application support, demonstrations and hands-on training, and manage turnkey projects.

The role offers £42,000 base salary, 8% annual bonus, a company car and pension, plus travel expenses, 25 days holiday and a 37‑hour week with no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Strong background in CNC programming.
• Experience with 5-axis machining (simultaneous preferred).
• Heidenhain control experience.
• Experience delivering customer training.
• Willing to travel across the UK and Ireland.

Applications Engineer - CNC Machine Tools

Are you an experienced CNC Programmer or Applications Engineer looking for a role where no two days are the same?

We are looking for an Applications Engineer to join a growing machine tool business, supporting customers across the UK and Ireland.

The Role

You will work with a wide range of customers and industries, including OEMs, aerospace, Formula One and motorsport. Your responsibilities will include:

• CNC application support and hands‑on technical training
• Machine demonstrations and demo cuts
• Turnkey projects and proving out customer parts
• Programming and supporting 5-axis simultaneous machining
• Supporting customers across the UK and occasional trips to Ireland

What We're Looking For

• Strong background in CNC programming
• Experience with 5-axis machining, ideally simultaneous 5-axis
• Heidenhain control experience
• Previous Applications Engineer experience, or a strong CNC programming background with an interest in moving into applications
• Experience delivering customer training
• Comfortable travelling throughout the UK and Ireland
