Application Support Engineer - FinTech - £120K

Our client is a growing financial technology (FinTech) firm, based in brand-new offices in central Newcastle.

They build innovative, in-house software for algo trading, investment, and asset management firms, as well as banks around the world, and are expanding their Application and Support Engineering team.

In this varied role, you will be involved in client-facing support across the business, supporting complex, sophisticated trading applications - 2nd and 3rd line support.

You will work closely with Development, Quant, and DevOps teams to build and implement improvements, manage new code deployments, and drive automation.

Requirements:

1. Experience in a similar Application Support / Support Engineering position
2. Ability to work with demanding clients, supporting applications, and delivering releases
3. FinTech, FS, and/or SaaS experience
4. Coding experience to be able to fix bugs and troubleshoot
5. Experience supporting and improving applications
6. SQL knowledge
7. Good understanding of Infrastructure (Windows, Linux, networking, etc.)
8. Experience with monitoring and automation
9. DevOps and Cloud (Azure) knowledge is a plus
10. Excellent academic background (top university, strong A Levels, etc.)
