Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join our production support team in Belfast. You will be the primary escalation point for production issues, work with engineering to resolve complex problems, and use AI tooling to reduce repetitive work.

The role requires solid knowledge of REST APIs, Linux and Windows, databases, networking, and scripting with Python or PowerShell. You will document runbooks and mentor colleagues in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in application support, preferably in a financial services or trading environment.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing role.
• Strong knowledge of networking, Linux/Windows, and MSSQL/NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or LLM-based tooling.

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for frontline support, owning complex production issues end to end.
• Participate in major incident response with impact analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Monitor system performance and availability, resolving issues before they impact clients.
• Collaborate with development teams and mentor newer engineers; create runbooks and knowledge base articles.
