Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions is hiring an Application Support Engineer in Belfast to act as the primary escalation point for production issues and to collaborate with engineering on complex problems. You will leverage AI tooling to reduce repetitive work and improve incident response.

You will join a hybrid team operating in a dynamic fintech environment, with responsibilities spanning incident management, automation, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years in application support in financial services or trading environment
• 2+ years in a customer-facing role
• Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and databases (MSSQL/NoSQL)
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or LLM-based tooling in a professional setting
• Ability to read and modify application code in a compiled language preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for frontline support, owning complex production issues end to end
• Participate in major incident response with impact analysis and recommendations
• Monitor system performance and availability; resolve issues before they impact clients
• Manage production access and change management activities
• Use AI tooling to accelerate investigation and reproduce issues
• Build and maintain automations and reusable AI assets
• Validate AI outputs before reaching a client or ticket
• Collaborate with development teams on fixes and improvements; mentor newer engineers
• Create and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles
