Job description

Application Security Specialist

Our client is looking to hire an experienced Application Security Specialist for a 6-month initial contract, working on a hybrid (London, remote) basis, inside IR35.

The pay rate for this role is approximately £650 per day, inside IR35.

Key Skills Required:

1. Strong security and development background, with experience in SDLC-focused roles.
2. Deep knowledge of OWASP API Top 10.
3. Ability to review Swagger/Open API specifications for vulnerabilities.
4. Familiarity with fallback controls such as WAFs and API gateways.
5. Experience using SIEM/logging tools to monitor API threats.
6. Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, OWASP SAMM, or similar.
7. Experience creating risk dashboards and reports for APIs.
8. Ability to translate technical risks into business language and collaborate with stakeholders.
9. Experience in large-scale, enterprise environments is advantageous.
