Job summary

TechOhana Ltd in Manchester is recruiting an Interim Applications Manager for a 7-month engagement, hybrid with two days in office. You will lead an Application Platforms team of around 30, including two team leads, staying close to day-to-day work and prioritising workloads while keeping business-critical systems stable.

You’ll oversee the team of engineers and third-party suppliers, owning incidents, problems and changes, and driving improvements through AI, automation and low-code workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership of an application platforms team, including team leads and engineers.
• Experience running live service for business-critical applications, including major incidents.
• Delivery of automation, AI or low-code improvements to reduce manual effort.
• Background in legal, professional services or financial services.
• Experience with Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with low-code or intelligent automation tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps or Copilot.
• Knowledge of ITIL, Agile and DevOps delivery models.
• 7-month interim contract.
• Hands-on role with influence on how the team works and grows.

Application Manager - 7 month Contract Inside IR35 - Manchester Hybrid 2 days in office

TechOhana have partnered with a global professional services organisation to appoint an Interim Applications Manager on a 7-month engagement, based in Manchester on a hybrid basis.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You’ll run an Application Platforms team of around 30, with two team leads reporting directly to you, and you’ll be close to the day‑to‑day work: prioritising workloads, getting involved when an application goes down, and keeping business‑critical systems stable while the estate moves forward.

You’ll manage the team leads, engineers and third‑party suppliers who support the application estate, owning incident, problem and change and handling major incidents directly when they happen. Alongside running the service, you’ll drive practical improvements: identifying and delivering AI, automation and low-code workflow opportunities that reduce manual effort, supporting cloud and SaaS adoption, and helping simplify the estate. You’ll build the team’s skills in automation and AI as you go, and finish the engagement with recommendations on team structure and capability, plus a clean handover.
