Retail Business Services (RBS) supports Amazon’s Retail business growth worldwide through three core tasks: (a) Selection, sourcing, creating, and enriching ASINs to drive GMS growth; (b) Defect Elimination, resolving inbound supply chain defects and developing root cause fixes to improve free cash flow; and (c) supporting operational processes for worldwide Retail teams where there are gaps in the tech stack. The RBS tech team develops automation leveraging Machine/Deep Learning to scale execution of complex tasks that currently require human cognitive skills. We seek a sharp, experienced Application Engineer (AE) with a diverse skill set. As an AE, you will collaborate with business teams to address support needs using existing applications, gather requirements, and develop scalable solutions. You will translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables, build scalable systems, and maintain service health. Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining solutions, working with engineers on multiple products and services, creating automation scripts, monitoring systems, and handling operational requests. You will understand the business impact of support decisions and work to improve operational efficiency through SLAs, metrics, monitors, procedures, tools, and documentation. On-call support for alarm monitoring, infrastructure issues, and bug fixes is a key part of the role. Additionally, onboarding clients and familiarizing them with platform features are essential tasks.
