Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support customers across Europe. This remote role covers the UK and Europe and involves collaborating with Sales, R&D and Product Development to solve complex packaging challenges for the food industry.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record in flexible packaging, ideally with experience supporting hard cheese or dairy packaging, and is confident communicating with customers while travelling as needed.

Are you an experienced Application Engineer, Technical Service Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or Product Development Engineer with a strong background in flexible packaging and food or dairy products?

Our client is a leading global packaging organisation working with major food manufacturers across the world. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an Application Engineer to support customers across Europe.

This is a highly technical, customer-facing role where you'll collaborate with customers, Sales, R&D and Product Development, helping food manufacturers solve packaging challenges and bring new solutions to market.

The ideal candidate will have experience within flexible packaging, ideally supporting hard cheese. You'll be technically confident, customer-focused and comfortable supporting packaging trials, troubleshooting applications, optimising packaging processes and working closely with Sales, R&D and Product Development teams.

The role:

• Become a technical expert within your field, working with major food manufacturers across Europe
• Influence packaging innovation and product development
• Work across Sales, R&D, Product Management and Technical Service
• Solve real-world customer and packaging challenges
• Develop expertise across a highly specialised food-packaging market

The person:

• Experience as an Application Engineer, Technical Service Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer or Product Development Engineer
• Experience within flexible packaging, ideally supporting food or dairy products
• Experience with hard cheese (e.g. sliced, grated or block cheese) would be highly advantageous
• Confident communicator with strong customer-facing skills
• Able and willing to travel across the UK and Europe
