Automotive image sensors are complex semiconductor products that require talented technical leaders to drive cross-functional innovation between internal teams and our global customer base. This exciting and visible Senior Principal Applications Engineering role, based at our Bracknell, UK Semiconductor Product Design Centre, will challenge your technical and people skills to deliver the next generation of automotive CMOS image sensors into future vehicles.

As an Automotive Imaging Applications Engineer, you will join a world-class team of customer-facing experts in viewing and machine vision products to:

• Provide technical leadership to customers integrating image sensor and system-on-chip solutions into automotive safety and viewing systems
• Validate image quality and optimize imaging performance for automotive camera designs, platforms, and reference modules
• Support global Field Applications Teams in customer product development activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to produce technical documents such as application notes and data sheets

Candidates suitable for this role might have:

• A degree in electrical or computer engineering
• Experience in camera system, semiconductor, or CMOS image sensor design
• Knowledge of automotive imaging systems, image processing algorithms, modules, and safety standards
• Experience with image capture and analysis tools
• Understanding of imaging concepts like colour temperature, dark current, fixed pattern, and noise, and their impact on image quality and tuning
• Strong presentation skills to communicate complex technical concepts effectively
• Some coding experience in Python, C++, or Matlab
• A passion for imaging, videography, and camera technology
