Job summary

Rathbones is hiring three permanent Digital Application Developer roles in London, Glasgow or Liverpool to build customer-facing digital products rather than merely maintaining existing apps. We seek engineers strong in React/TypeScript, iOS/Swift/SwiftUI or Android/Kotlin, with APIs and services integration, solid testing, CI/CD and secure development practices.

Collaboration with Product, UX/UI, Architecture and Data teams is key.

Qualifications

• Built greenfield applications/products from scratch.
• Developed customer-facing web applications, portals or mobile apps.
• Strong hands-on experience with React/TypeScript, iOS/Swift/SwiftUI or Android/Kotlin.
• Experience building and integrating APIs and application services.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals around testing, CI/CD, architecture and secure development.
• Experience working closely with Product, UX/UI, Architecture and Data teams.
• Ideally, experience within Financial Services, FinTech or another regulated environment.
• Exposure to AI coding/development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor is a bonus.

• The team is building and enhancing digital capabilities across web and mobile, supporting client and adviser experiences across areas including investment, onboarding, reporting and servicing.

Rathbones is looking to hire the best engineers first and build the right balance of skills across the team.

We're particularly interested in people who have:

• Built greenfield applications/products from scratch
• Developed customer-facing web applications, portals or mobile apps
• Strong hands-on experience with React / TypeScript, iOS/Swift/SwiftUI or Android/Kotlin
• Experience building and integrating APIs and application services
