Job summary

ECS Resource Group is seeking a Senior Consultant for Apigee Delivery. The role is remote with occasional visits to the London site, starting ASAP until June 2027 (Inside IR35). You will configure, test and support API capabilities using Apigee X and GCP, collaborating with platform, application, security and engineering teams.

You will be hands‑on, troubleshoot end‑to‑end API requests, and contribute to onboarding, deployment and production readiness across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on Apigee X experience in configuring and testing proxies and policies.
• Strong knowledge of API security controls, OAuth 2.0, JWT and token handling.
• Experience troubleshooting end‑to‑end API requests and connectivity issues.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices across environments.

Are you an experienced Apigee consultant with strong hands‑on experience configuring, testing and supporting enterprise APIs?

We're looking for a Senior Consultant in Apigee Delivery to join a major technology programme, working across multiple workstreams to configure, test and support API capabilities using Apigee X and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This role will suit someone who is technically hands‑on, confident troubleshooting end‑to‑end API requests and comfortable working closely with platform, application, security and engineering teams.

• Configuring and testing Apigee X proxies, policies, target connectivity and environment settings
• Implementing and testing API security controls, authentication and token‑handling patterns
• Troubleshooting API routing, connectivity, TLS, authentication and policy issues
• Supporting API onboarding and deployment across multiple workstreams
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and repeatable deployment processes
• Supporting the configuration and promotion of APIs through development and test environments

Previous experience

• Hands‑on commercial experience working with Apigee X
• Good knowledge of API proxies, policies, shared flows, target servers, KVMs and environment configuration
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and API authentication including OAuth 2.0, JWT, OIDC and token handling
• Experience troubleshooting end‑to‑end API requests and connectivity issues
• Experience working with commonly used Apigee policies and security controls
• Understanding of GCP, networking, DNS, TLS and service connectivity
• Experience working with CI/CD processes and tools such as GitHub, Harness, Jenkins or Cloud Build
• Experience with repeatable API deployment, testing and promotion practices
• Ability to produce clear test evidence, technical documentation and operational runbooks
• Experience with Terraform, Python, Bash, GKE, Cloud Run, Dynatrace, Google Cloud Operations or ServiceNow would be advantageous, as would previous experience within a large enterprise or regulated environment

This is a hands‑on delivery role where you'll work across multiple workstreams to configure, test, troubleshoot and successfully onboard APIs onto Apigee X. You'll need to be comfortable getting into the technical detail while communicating effectively with both platform and application teams.
