Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Lead – API to join the CTO Developer Platforms, Standards and Controls team. You will lead the technical direction for a new product that inventories APIs, checks compliance with HSBC API standards, and provides compliant designs to support delivery.

You will integrate and evolve related applications into a cohesive end-to-end user journey for customers, mentor delivery teams, and help shape product roadmaps, data-driven decision

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in software fundamentals: design patterns, data structures, algorithms, architecture.
• Experience applying AI to software development processes to scale delivery.
• Proven leadership skills guiding teams and creating a productive environment.
• Product/project management capabilities including planning and delivery.
• Experience in a control environment or Technology controls.
• Experience working in a global organisation with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Be a proactive, collaborative member of the Standards and Controls leadership team.
• Act as a key technical leader, overseeing delivery from inception to completion.
• Shape and refine the bank’s API standards, gathering feedback and iterating.
• Explore AI opportunities integrated into standards.
• Lead product planning and prioritisation aligned to future API vision.
• Align and communicate product roadmaps with customers at the centre of change.
• Champion data and metrics to improve customer outcomes.
• Provide mentorship to development teams and promote best practices.
