Job summary

Uber Boats by Thames Clippers in London is seeking a Solutions Integration Engineer for a fixed-term contract (6-12 months) to deliver a strategic customer data platform and support multi-system integration. You will design technical solutions, oversee API connectivity, troubleshoot, and ensure successful implementation across connected retail systems.

Working with business stakeholders and external partners, you will define requirements, validate designs, and drive end-to-end system operation.

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience in system integration, API development, and database technologies.
Proven track record in project engineering or technical delivery roles within IT environments.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and oversee implementation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with external vendors.
Proactive, action-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
7-10 years experience of System Integration as part of technology projects.
Experience with customer data platforms, loyalty systems, or personalization engines is a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, M365, and modern API frameworks.
Familiarity with data security standards and GDPR compliance.
Degree-level IT qualification and project management certifications (Prince2/Agile) are desirable.

Responsibilities

Technical Integration Engineering (60%) duties: validate designs, ensure API specs and data mappings meet requirements, review architecture, act as technical authority, coordinate third-party dependencies, lead issue resolution, ensure end-to-end integrity including authentication, data, loyalty and personalization services, review testing evidence and ensure non-functional requirements are met, incorporate security and GDPR into designs.
Business Analysis & Requirements (30%) duties: work with stakeholders to capture requirements, facilitate workshops, translate needs into integration requirements, validate objectives, assess impact and operational considerations, support scope management and UAT.
Work Package Management (10%) duties: manage deliverables and timelines, track risks and dependencies, coordinate internal and external teams, provide progress updates, assist with planning and implementation.
