Capital One seeks an experienced lead counsel to lead the APAC region for the Global Payments Network. This senior managerial role requires advising on legal and commercial strategies, managing complex transactions, and coordinating with Risk and Compliance to support rapid business expansion in APAC.

Hybrid London office with in-office and remote days. The role emphasizes strategic advisory, stakeholder communication across levels, and collaboration with external counsel to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 6+ years of post‑qualification experience (Singapore law qualification is a plus).
• Experience negotiating, drafting, and guiding implementation of commercial agreements.
• Experience working within a financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead counsel for APAC and drive international expansion for the Global Payments Network.
• Own APAC legal and commercial contracting strategy and delivery roadmap.
• Partner with Risk and Compliance to provide cross-functional support.
• Provide strategic leadership on legal and commercial considerations for APAC.
• Oversee outside counsel as needed and manage external relationships.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on compliance risk.
