Job summary

Education Personnel are partnering with an Alternative Provision in Burton to recruit an AP Teacher for immediate start or January 2027. The role focuses on small-group teaching, tailored curricula, SEMH needs, and trauma-informed practice to re-engage vulnerable learners.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have at least 6 months’ experience in AP/SEN or mainstream settings with strong inclusion focus, and demonstrate resilience, de-escalation skills, and collaborative working with SENCos

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• At least 6 months teaching experience in AP/PRU/SEN or mainstream with strong inclusion focus.
• Passionate about re-engaging vulnerable learners in education.
• Demonstrates resilience, de-escalation skills, and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored core subject or specialist teaching to small groups in AP.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet SEMH needs.
• Monitor progress, track behaviour, and implement trauma-informed interventions.
• Collaborate with SENCos, multi-agency teams, and pastoral staff.
• Attend staff meetings and CPD as required.
