Job summary

Capel Manor College is seeking a Laboratory and Resource Technician for the Animal Management department at the Enfield campus. You will manage the science laboratory daily, preparing equipment and materials for Animal Management and other subjects, with a focus on safety and efficient operations.

You will maintain COSHH/CLEAPS records, conduct risk assessments, and monitor Health and Safety procedures. You will also support staff and students with laboratory resources and assist with zoo

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or higher in an animal science/chemistry discipline.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong awareness of Health and Safety / COSHH / CLEAPS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the science laboratory at the Enfield campus.
• Prepare equipment and materials to support Animal Management and other subjects.
• Clean, maintain and store laboratory resources.
• Produce risk assessments and maintain COSHH/CLEAPS records.
• Monitor Health and Safety procedures in the lab.
• Support staff and students in using laboratory resources.
• Assist with zoo license administration and contribute to conservation/research programs.
• Uphold high and safe standards.
