About The Role and Person

We are seeking an Animal Keeper to join our animal management team at Capel Manor College.

The post holder will be responsible for the daily care of the College’s animals, including cleaning, feeding, watering, bedding, nesting, and health checks. The successful candidate will uphold high standards of animal husbandry and welfare, maintain and upgrade animal facilities, and keep accurate records. They will also deliver interactive enclosure experiences to visitors and support our Practical Instructors and Lecturers by providing resources such as animals and equipment for learning.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 qualification or higher in an animal care discipline and some experience with various animal species. They should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be aware of Health and Safety issues, and be committed to animal welfare.

Note: Some weekend and bank holiday work is required.
