Vets Now is seeking a Part Time Animal Care Assistant in Reading to support our emergency veterinary team. You will help clinical staff with in-patient care, handling patients, running diagnostic tests, and ensuring basic needs are met throughout busy shifts in an emergency clinic.

Shift patterns include evenings and weekends, with additional bank holidays. The role offers a benefits package including generous leave, health plans, and staff discounts within a patient-centered emergency

Role and Responsibilities

As an Animal Care Assistant at Vets Now, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clinical teams with providing a comfortable and stress-free in-patient environment whilst negotiating busy shifts in an emergency clinic. Your responsibilities will include:

• Working under the guidance of Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons.
• Handling patients for basic procedures and assisting with running diagnostic tests.
• Assisting in setting up and clearing down theatres for surgical procedures.
• Ensuring all in-patients have their basic husbandry needs attended to.

Working pattern

Week 1: Wednesday from 19:00 to 00:00 and Sunday from 09:00 to 15:00

Week 2: Wednesday from 19:00 to 00:00

Week 3: Wednesday and Thursday from 19:00 to 00:00 and Sunday from 09:00 to 15:00

Week 4: Wednesday from 19:00 to 00:00
