Job summary

Vets Now in Swansea is seeking an Animal Care Assistant on a fixed-term contract for 6 months, starting 22nd November. You will support our clinical teams in a busy emergency clinic, helping maintain a calm inpatient environment and assisting with basic procedures and diagnostics.

You will work under Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons, help set up and clear theatres, and ensure in-patients receive proper husbandry whilst rotating through a shift pattern with additional bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Working under the guidance of Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons.
• Handling patients for basic procedures and assisting with running diagnostic tests.
• Assisting in setting up and clearing down theatres for surgical procedures.
• Ensuring all in-patients have their basic husbandry needs attended to.

Key Responsibilities

As an Animal Care Assistant at Vets Now, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clinical teams with providing a comfortable and stress-free in-patient environment whilst negotiating busy shifts in an emergency clinic. Your responsibilities will include:

• Working under the guidance of Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons.

Week 1: Wednesday 18:00 – 00:00, Saturday 19:00 – 08:00, Sunday 19:00 – 08:00

Week 2: Wednesday 18:00 – 00:00, Thursday 18:00 – 00:00, Friday 18:00 – 00:00, Sunday 19:00 – 08:00

Week 3: Monday 18:00 – 00:00, Tuesday 18:00 – 00:00, Wednesday 18:00, 00:00, Sunday 23:00 – 09:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
