Job summary

Zopa Bank is seeking an experienced Android developer to take our mobile app to the next level. You will shape the Android experience in Kotlin, work on architecture and shared libraries, and help migrate away from React Native toward a native Android approach.

You will collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to deliver performant, reliable experiences. The role combines office presence in London with flexible remote days, and supports ongoing learning and modern mobile engineering

Qualifications

• Production Android apps in Kotlin, including publishing to Google Play.
• Strong understanding of Android frameworks, APIs, and native development best practices.
• Experience with high‑engagement mobile apps, performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with native mobile engineers to design and evolve the Android platform.
• Migrate the app from React Native to native Android using Kotlin with solid architecture.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver features leveraging native Android capabilities.
• Improve performance and repair defects to enhance user experience.
• Promote best practices for native development and support cross-training into native Android.
