Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Mobile Software Engineer - Android to design, build and evolve our Android apps using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Join a cross-functional team to deliver secure, scalable, high-performing mobile experiences for customers in a hybrid London-based setup.

You will design, implement and optimize features, mentor peers, and uphold engineering best practices as the bank expands its mobile capabilities. This role offers flexible working options and a 35-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering Android apps to Google Play Store.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience developing secure, scalable mobile applications.
• Understanding of Android architecture, design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience with Clean Architecture and object-oriented programming.
• Deep understanding of Android components including Activities, Fragments, Services, Content Providers and Broadcast Receivers.
• Knowledge of Android lifecycle management and best practices.
• Experience monitoring application performance and debugging production issues.
• Experience writing automated tests including unit, integration and UI tests.
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
• Experience collaborating with designers, product managers and backend engineers.
• Experience building and maintaining multi-module applications.
• Ability to mentor and support fellow engineers while promoting engineering best practices.
