Job summary

Muzz in London is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join our in-house team and build world-class mobile experiences for millions of users.

You'll work with Kotlin, Coroutines, and modern Android architecture (MVVM/MVI), delivering features from concept to the Google Play Store while embracing agile methods.

Our team operates with a hybrid setup, a friendly entrepreneurial culture, quarterly hackathons, and opportunities to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• 2+ years creating cutting edge Android apps in Kotlin.
• Strong grasp of Coroutines and responsive UI via MVVM/MVI.
• Experience with testing and modern Android tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications from requirements to the Google Play Store.
• Iterate quickly on designs across multiple feature areas.
• Collaborate in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban) and write tests.

Muzz is the world’s largest Muslim dating and marriage app. We’ve got over 15 million members and have helped more than 800,000 couples get married. We’re on our way to becoming the first $1 billion Muslim tech brand – but we need your help!

For candidates based within London region, this role requires you to be in our London office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. UK based candidates can work remotely, with the requirement to come to the office on last Thursday of each month.

Please note for remote European candidates - max salary is £70k.

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years creating cutting edge Android apps in Kotlin
• Strong grasp of Coroutines
• Experience with caching
• To be able to iterate quickly on designs across multiple feature areas
• Working knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
• Developing and maintaining Android applications from requirements to the Google Play Store
• Willing to learn new skills and really get stuck in
• Bags of common sense with the raw ability and energy to make things happen, a real entrepreneurial spirit
• UI Test Automation
• Knowledge around Material Design and all new Android developments and features
• Live and breathe all things Google IO and Android
• Experience around threading, animation, video/image manipulation, messaging
