Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an experienced civil engineer to develop and apply engineering practice for nuclear island buildings, focusing on concrete fastening design, anchorage, and design verification.

You will coordinate CAD design with the Design Office Manager, produce calculation notes, and ensure health and safety compliance, with hybrid working and SC clearance. This is a global technology partner shaping digital and sustainable transformation.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of design office experience.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes for civil engineering.
• Experience in design of fastenings in concrete.
• Knowledge of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures.
• Proficiency with ANSYS or similar FEA tool.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production and monitoring of civil engineering on the nuclear island buildings.
• Coordinate CAD Design work with the Design Office Manager.
• Perform design activities for fastenings in concrete.
• Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents.
• Create and maintain the Design Risk Register.
• Responsible for anchorage design activities.

Our offerThis role involves the development and application of engineering practice and knowledge in the following technologies: Design of mechanical systems, devices, equipment and machines; installing and maintaining mechanically functioning equipment; simulating a wide range of interactions and evaluate performance in real world scenarios; and develop prototype for manufacturability, testing and validation.Your roleActivities to be carried out as part of the service:Ensures the production and monitoring of the civil engineering of the buildings on the nuclear island and proposes technical solutions.
