Job Title: Anatomical Pathology Technologist

Location: Singleton Hospital, Swansea

Band: Band 5

Contract Type: Locum

Salary: £22 - £25 per hour

About you

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Anatomical Pathology Technician (APT) to work within Hywel Dda Health Board. You will act as a qualified APT within the mortuary, and the role will involve performing a number of tasks including receipt and appropriate storage of the deceased, preparation for Post Mortem examination and release of the deceased in line with departmental policy, best practice and the Human Tissue Act, and in support of the Coroner, Pathologists and Police.

Key Responsibilities/Requirements
  • To work flexibly and participate in the routine work of the mortuary, plan and organise own work on a daily basis ensuring results are produced in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To assist with Coronial and hospital post‑mortems.
  • Experience of modern mortuary and post‑mortem techniques.
  • RSPH Certificate and Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology.
  • Full UK right to work.
