Job description

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for an Analytics Manager to work within the VML Data team. The Analytics Manager will lead a team of analysts who will analyse data to deliver value through understanding our clients’ data and the performance of marketing activities. Working closely with the wider analytics and data team you will determine the prioritisation of projects, based on expected value to the business, and identify the best resource to work on each project based on skills and specialities.

Role Overview

As an Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of measurement and insight projects across various marketing activities, working with data strategists and consultants to answer business questions. You will lead all analysis projects, ensuring the final deliverables are accurate, mentoring and inspiring a diverse group of analysts.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage a team of analysts to deliver optimal quality of work
  • Ensure team members are aware of the latest innovations and ways of working, especially in the evolving world of AI
  • Design, manage and deliver end‑to‑end analyses to help marketing optimise across the funnel
  • Allocate projects based on skills and capabilities, encouraging continuous learning
  • Oversee the delivery of measurement and effectiveness projects, including dashboard reporting and deep‑dive evaluation of marketing impact
  • Lead strategic projects such as segmentation and modelling, applying statistical techniques to develop deep insights
  • Apply the most relevant methodologies to measure and evaluate, proactively recommending better ways of working
  • Create clear written and verbal outputs on reports and presentations, supporting recommendations on marketing strategy
  • Resolve data quality and consistency issues
  • Act as the client’s trusted advisor on data and analytical methodology, simplifying decision making for them
  • Present to clients and attend client meetings
  • Collaborate internally with strategy and account teams to embed data work into agency deliverables and foster a culture of data‑informed decision‑making
  • Provide leadership and expertise to support the development of junior team members
  • Develop the skills and knowledge of colleagues, sustaining a learning culture within the team
Experience
  • 8+ years working in a marketing or related field, with experience as an analytics manager or senior analyst leading a team
  • Experience coding in Python, BigQuery and SQL
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Experience developing dashboards and creating dashboards
  • Experience in data storytelling, translating data into actionable recommendations
  • Understanding of how to use AI to optimise efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proven record of delivering high quality outputs
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage a team and handle own workload autonomously in an agency environment
  • Ability to translate business needs into analytical methods and outputs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level analytical skills in performance analysis
  • Experience designing, implementing and automating reporting dashboards using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and Looker Studio
  • Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques including customer segmentation, predictive modelling, multivariate analysis, Q&A, A/B testing and statistical significance
