Job description

At Dataiku, we're not just adapting to the AI revolution, we're leading it. Since our beginning in Paris in 2013, we've been pioneering the future of AI with a platform that makes data actionable and accessible. With over 1,000 teammates across 25 countries and backed by a renowned set of investors, we're the architects of Everyday AI, enabling data experts and domain experts to work together to build AI into their daily operations, from advanced analytics to Generative AI.

Dataiku is looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Enterprise Data and Analytics team in London. As a member of the EDA Team, you will play a central role in delivering data products as well as data-driven insights to various stakeholders and teams at the company. You will also support the full organisation to get the most of their data. Non-technical skills and business acumen are important, but you will of course be expected to operate at a high technical level. Our Analytics Engineers work on the Dataiku platform every day and, aside from the visual tools, use mostly SQL and Python with occasional work in other languages, with a good working knowledge of Snowflake and the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, has excellent verbal and written communication skills, a sharp analytical mind, a positive attitude towards work and thrives when collaborating towards a shared goal.

How you'll make an impact:

The role of an Analytics Engineer at Dataiku is quite unique as it's not only focused on data products delivery but also on fostering the self-service analytics within the whole company - every Dataiker is encouraged to use our own product, so we have an internal community of analysts much larger than most companies our size. Your responsibilities within the team and with the community of analysts include but are not limited to:

  • Build, maintain and evolve our data catalog with data products that allow for answering complex business questions, flexible querying, data visualisation and that support self-service analytics in the best way possible.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and embedded analysts to ensure that business logic is properly represented in datasets and well documented to ensure it can be used by the wider population of analysts to drive business insights and strategy.
  • Collaborate transversally with business leaders or operations to conduct gap analysis, understand business needs and build out advanced analytical solutions to answer those needs.
  • Participate in the end of month closing and update of reference datasets as well as presentation materials (decks, reports) supporting the company’s most important metrics including ARR, NDR, ARPU, Headcount, Product Adoption…
  • Maintain a standard on data quality (monitoring, adherence to the principles of data governance, punctual data clean-up efforts) to ensure continuous delivery of accurate metrics. Advance automation efforts that help the team spend less time manipulating & validating data and more time analyzing.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data related inquiries to support management and the executives of the company
  • Proactively identify and explore new opportunities through creative analytical and engineering methods. Use dedicated innovation time to explore and work on innovative use cases or analysis that might be transformational for the team or the business.
  • Promote self-service analytics within Dataiku by providing technical support, expertise and empowerment to the larger community of analysts.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Analytics / Analytics Engineering / Data Science
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Python is a must. Experience in Dataiku is a big plus
  • Ability to build reports and dashboards with BI tools (such as Tableau, Looker or PowerBI) is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills as well as strong critical thinking.
  • Passion for thinking through challenges from the user perspective. Your daily work is driven by your commitment to end users.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tell stories with data and clearly articulate/present complex situations and concepts
  • Ability to write clear and concise communications and documentations with a high degree of precision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and time constraints simultaneously
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves to accomplish what needs to be done. You get things done and inspire your colleagues to do the same.
